— Poetry —
I'm still putting this section together to make it easier for me to add poems I've written, but for now, here's just one.
fingers pull my shingles till I am bare
ask how I want to be touched
say I take what I can get
say what do you mean by that
I want to do what's good for you
say I don't know what I want
say sorry & retreat & wither long
Silence braids her legs in yours
my teary palms make shapes
Silence's fingers up your ribcage
ask do you know what you want
say I've never been satisfied
Histories ache for such a half-lie
ask what I think would satisfy
say touch me (obliquely)
make three attempts so cautiously
doubt yourself & feel you've failed
suppose in this version of events,
I say the things I want to say
and I am a great communicator
and I am not interested in litigating
with myself over whether I've ever
been satisfied. so instead,
when you ask about asexuality
I want to do what's good for you
say I'm afraid & ashamed
please say that's okay it's all okay
your fingers find my hair, my voice
I want you, I want you so badly
burning stars tent low over my back
unsteady navigation drives us closer
I want this, I really want this
a fear lives a smaller life than a wish
wish not to be in such a small house
I love you, I love you (again)
tongue meets your waistline in the end
ask do you know what you want
say I often want for very little
in this moment I want only you
somehow I'm still so shy
say I want you in my mouth
your nails to make red thread of me
to take anything you'll share
ask where I want to be touched
say if it's you, please, anywhere
