2026 | 2025

A record of what I've seen. Gold titles link to my longer reviews, some of which I've imported from my Letterboxd account.

Pom Poko (1994)

31 December, English dub, dir. Isao Takahata

Om Shanti Om (2007)

30 November, Hindi, dir. Farah Khan

there is just not a film like this in the west. incredibly visually stunning and ambitious. it's so in love with the art of filmmaking and it pulled emotions out of me with mile-long setups and payoffs that couldn't be achieved in a shorter film. SRK and Deepika's range is outstanding and to think that there's just so much more that half these actors do before and after is jaw-dropping to even consider

One Battle After Another (2025)

23 October, English, dir. Paul Thomas Anderson

But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)

8 October, English, dir. Jamie Babbitt

Get Out (2017)

8 October, English, dir. Jordan Peele

really rather good but it's clear that acab somehow doesn't mean the TSA and that annoys me considering I watched this on a plane

A Normal Family (2023)

2 October, Korean, dir. Hur Jin-Ho

goodness. very dramatic and honestly quite good characters. maybe I'm just missing something but I didn't love it in spite of everything it had going for it, because I really should have

Brazil (1985)

1 October, English, dir. Terry Gilliam

remarkably british film and enhanced by the power of being flattened by 10mg weed gummy. tremendous. paper thin protagonist with disappointingly marginal character growth

Sinners (2025)

27 & 28 September, English, dir. Ryan Coogler

perhaps the best to ever do it. went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and that's the best experience for this film. literally don't look it up at all, avoid descriptions, just watch it. don't read a single word about it. it was so good I had to watch it again the next day

Bionicle: The Legend Reborn (2009)

13 September, English, dir. Mark Baldo

birthday double feature with Dredd (2012). it's a much better experience on hard drugs

Dredd (2012)

13 September, English, dir. Pete Travis

The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie (2008)

22 August, English, dir. Mike Nawrocki

really the least christian veggietales film I've seen. if you're a dad and you know you're a loser, they go for the throat in this one

Promare (2019)

19 July, Japanese, dir. Hiroyuki Imaishi

insanely stylish yaoi. acab means firefighters too. double feature with pom poko for puppydog movie night

Heard She Got Murdered (2023)

6 July, English, dir. Charles Roxburgh

Heard She Got Married (2021)

6 July, English, dir. Charles Roxburgh

14 June, English, dir. Michael Dougherty

pro Christ pro God pro family values pro US military pro Atlantis pro America pro Boston pro Red Sox & Fenway Park anti the devil anti China anti Washington DC anti the State Street building anti divorce anti bitch ex wives anti ecoterrorism pro hollow earth theory anti nuance probably antisemitic but idk how and definitely pro slop

Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010)

13 June, Thai, dir. Apichatpong Weerasethakul

Dredd (2012)

11 June, English, dir. Pete Travis

it's about how doing drugs is really really cool

10 June, English, dir. George Miller

Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)

9 June, Japanese, dir. Hayao Miyazaki

Hellraiser (1987)

9 June, English, dir. Clive Barker

the worst and least respectful doms in the whole universe converge on your location because they've become so lost in the sauce that they forgot how consent works. could be described as toxic. fun film

The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)

7 June, English, dir. Joel Coen

double feature with the minecraft movie for puppydog movie night. well I guess the coen brothers did a wonderful job evoking the 50s with weird black and female stereotypes. otherwise a pretty enjoyable film with some great stylistic choices, fun dialogue and gags, and the oppressive, frantic nature of the mailroom is something I'll definitely be taking inspiration from

A Minecraft Movie (2025)

7 June, English, dir. Jared Hess

this one's gonna be life changing for the type of fella who thinks captain crunch is a real person and eats lucky pennies off the sidewalk

Metal Detector Maniac (2021)

4 June, English, dir. Charles Roxburgh

ahah, well.. you know how those metal detector people are
double feature with riverbeast for motern movie night

Don't Let The Riverbeast Get You! (2012)

4 June, English, dir. Charles Roxburgh

fantastic low budget fun. a story about a wedding, a monster, investigative journalism, a corrupt justice system, a soldier, and the neverending quest for knowledge in a sleepy new england backwater. special appearance by your favorite cover band's least favorite cover band's unknown cover band.

it seems I've seen this before, but I had absolutely no recollection of it. I have seen it again now and possess absolutely no recollection of it

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

13 April, English, dir. Robert Zemeckis

watched it with the weird racist movie. far better by comparison but I don't really remember this one to be honest

Man with the Screaming Brain (2005)

13 April, English, dir. Bruce Campbell (yes, the actor!)

terrible racist trash, absent of vision, lacking in substance, and mostly unfunny, generously. thank god I was high and with friends for this one. if you consider this film to see if it's an enjoyable bad movie, it can hardly claim that title - don't bother

19 March, English, dir. David Cronenberg

Kneecap (2024)

18 March, Irish Gaelic and English, dir. Rich Peppiatt

this may be one of the better films I've seen the past few years. fun, dramatic, and without a dull moment, I want to do a lot of drugs and scream into a microphone. I feel as though it ran just a little long, but I couldn't imagine where you'd cut down. excellent especially for a biopic - the artists do quite a fine job acting and the narrative remains fun and interesting and exciting throughout the group's hijinks and perils. Margaret Thatcher, go to hell
